No Practice

Above is the schedule for the week.

Some things to remember.

1)      Buses load and unload in the parking lot by the tennis courts.
2)      Please send appropriate winter clothes every day. It is usually 10-15 degrees colder at the ski area than in town.
3)      Electronics and instruments can be locked in the school on the orchestra room.  The bus is crowded.  Things get stepped on and broken.  The safe place for your tablet is in the school! You cannot get to your school locker after practice.
4)      Please send a snack for your skier to eat on the bus or before loading.  A water bottle is also a good idea.
5)      Parents please try to be as punctual as possible after practice.  We, coaches have to stay until the last skier is picked up.
)      MOST IMPORTANT!!  If your skier does not have all paperwork turned in to the office, they cannot get on the bus to go to practice.

Parents if you wish to ski with the team as a volunteer you must fill out a volunteer application at the main office. The office will let us know when you have been cleared to help!  Thanks.

Practices over the break:
We will offer two days of practices over the break.  They are not mandatory but if you have skiers that need to get out…. They will count toward the nine required practices before the first meet.  Tuesday 12/31/19, time 12:30PM to 3PM and Thursday 1-2-20 same times.

Shirt and Tight orders are due  January 19, 2019 (No Practice on the 20th)

GO SKI WITH YOUR FAMILY OVER THE BREAK, THE SNOW IS GREAT!

Post 2 of 2020

Welcome Skiers and Families.

Season 2020 is getting organized and on the way!

If you have not given me an email address please do so.  We are putting together a team email list “ScoutNordic”.  This is our main outlet for news, blog, schedules etc.

Other areas of information – Facebook at ScoutNordic   and Remind.  The school website is not easily updated please look at these options for information.  (Detailed info on how to find these is on Post 1)

Included in the information packet is 99% of what you need to know about the team.  See Post 1 of 2020. Please read it.

Information not included in the packet:
1)      Suggested you find a way to have a water bottle and some way to carry it.  Hydration is just as important in the cold as the heat!
2)      Please pack a snack for before skiing.  Nordic skiers can burn as many as 600 to 1000cal an hour.  They can eat on the bus on the way to the ski trails or eat before loading.  (Granola bars, crackers, fruit, bagels etc.) Something with protein right after practice , on the bus will help with recovery and keep the angry hungry animals at bay. (Chocolate milk, protein bar, string cheese, jerky.) Please try to send low sugar and healthy foods.

Ski Team Clothing:
Order forms for team shirts and team tights are attached to this post.  A jersey for races will be provided if you choose not to order.  Ski tights are what most skiers wear to race in.  They are not warm and need a base layer under them. Neither shirt or tights are required for our team.  PLease do not feel obligated.
